Bailey’s Synthetics™ B-SPEC Sling – Built for Basket Rigging

The Bailey’s Synthetics™ B-SPEC Sling was developed with one specific purpose in mind: build the best synthetic sling we could for basket rigging.

We weren’t trying to replace our grommet sling. The grommet remains one of the most versatile synthetic slings we make. Instead, we wanted to take what we’ve learned from years of building, using and testing synthetic rigging and develop a sling specifically around the demands of basket rigging.

The result is the Bailey’s Synthetics™ B-SPEC Sling.

Built with a 12-strand HMPE core and our proprietary protection, the B-SPEC combines strength and protection in an incredibly flexible sling that is easy to handle, feed into position and store.

BUILT FOR THE JOB

The B-SPEC was designed for operators who want a purpose-built option for basket rigging without the bulk and stiffness that can come with heavily protected synthetic slings.

Its flexible construction makes it easy to work with and easy to store, while the protective sleeve provides added protection in the areas where the sling needs it.

No bulky mid-sleeve. No unnecessary bulk. Just a sling designed around the job it was built to do.

WHICH SLING IS BETTER?

We get asked whether the B-SPEC Sling replaces the Bailey’s Synthetics™ Grommet Sling.

It doesn’t—and it wasn’t designed to.

• The grommet sling is still the most versatile synthetic sling we build. Its construction makes it a great option for a wide variety of rigging applications.
• The B-SPEC is different. It was purpose-built for basket rigging. That’s where it’s at home.
• Think about the tools in your toolbox. A crescent wrench is incredibly versatile, but when you know you need a 9/16″ wrench, you reach for the tool built for that job.
• The question isn’t “Which sling is better?”
• It’s “Better at what?”
• Choose your rigging based on the work you’re asking it to do.

WHY WE BUILT IT

We’ve spent years working with synthetic rigging—building it, testing it, listening to operators and watching how it gets used in the field.  The B-SPEC came from asking a different question.  Not “How do we make another sling?”  But “What would we build if we designed a sling specifically for basket rigging?”  That question shaped the B-SPEC from the core to the protection surrounding it.  Some of what went into developing it we’re keeping to ourselves. There were years of testing, failures, learning and development behind this sling, and there are parts of that process we’re simply not giving away.  What we will tell you is that we’re proud of what came out of it.

The Bailey’s Synthetics™ B-SPEC Sling isn’t intended to be the sling for every application.  It’s the sling we built for basket rigging.
